Meetings

Our meetings are the first Monday of each month at Woodmansey Village Hall. 7:00 for 7:30.

The Village Hall is at the junction of Hull Road and Long Lane, Woodmansey, Beverley HU17 0RN

Visitors are welcome and wear warm clothing in case we are outside observing.

Meetings are a mix of Club business and networking. If it is cloudy we will find things to do inside (occasional lecture, viewing of an astronomy programme etc). There is a raffle (tickets £1) and hot beverages are available (50p).

But if the skies are clear then we are outside looking up at the planets, moon, nebulae and other wonders of the visible universe.

If you are having problems setting up and using your telescope and other equipment than we may have someone in the Club able and willing to help.

Please send an email to the Club Secretary to introduce yourself and the nature of your problem. You can come along to our next meeting, bringing your equiment so we can have a look. Come early (before 7pm) if you can.

It's possible that one of our members may be able to come to you to help as well, if appropriate. We are happy to provide advice and guidance on buying and using astronomy gear, so you may want to have a chat with us before you spend any money, or give up on that telescope you are having trouble with.

Fees for 2025 :

As our fees have remained unchanged for several years we have taken the decision to increase our annual membership fee to £25.00* and our guest fee to £4/meeting. These will take effect from January 2025.

* Annual membership fee is pro rata. If you join during the membership year (January to December) then you only pay for that part of the year.

Membership grants you other advantages including being part of our WhatsApp groups (astrophotography and general groups).

Juniors are free if accompanied by a fee paying adult.

Come along for opportunities to stargaze using Club telescopes, ask questions and get advice about how to buy and use telescopes etc, or just to spend time with other amateur astronomers.
