Club Monthly Meeting – April 6th 2026

A mostly clear night, informative talk.

A clear night, with just a few wisps of high cloud now and then.

It didn’t get dark enough until around 8pm, so while we waited for the sun to set and the sky to darken we were entertained by a well thought out and delivered presentation.

Club Chair, Mark Garratt,  gave a topical and entertaining presentation on the differences between Apollo 8 and Artemis 2.

After the presentation we had our usual raffle then 22 members rushed outside to see the night sky.

With the moon not yet up the brightest object in view was Jupiter and almost every telescope was initially trained on the planet and it’s 4 visible moons.

The last members left after 10pm.

While Mark delivered his talk various telescopes cooled down outside and the sky gradually darkened.

Scopes lined up waiting for darkness.
