Sherwood Observatory Trip

February 4th, 2026 a group of ERA and Brough Astronomy members visited the Sherwood Observatory near Nottingham.

~15 members had a great time visiting the observatory with it’s 24″ newtonian telescope.

An unexpected delight was the adjoining exhibition hall and planetarium.

Local club members could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and the post planetarium show opportunity to freestyle a tour of the night sky was great fun.

That it was a cloudy night with no chance to see the real night sky did not detract from an informative, enjoyable and worthwhile visit.
